THE NSFDW 7TH EDITION 2024,CONCLUDES IN GRAND STYLE

Finally, the long anticipated Nigerian Student Fashion & Design Week (NSFDW) 7th edition 2024,concludes in grand style after a 5 year hiatus to rebrand and come out massive.
Since its inception in 2013, NSFDW has been a cornerstone for young Nigerian designers, providing a platform to showcase their creativity and gain industry exposure. The week-long event, held from November 26th to 30th , was seen to have brought together aspiring designers, industry professionals, and fashion enthusiasts under the theme “Fashion Forward with a breathtaking grand finale at the prestigious Oriental Hotel in Victoria Island Lagos .

The event hosted by Jay Paul of the big brother naija show, brought together 20 exceptional emerging designers whose collection celebrated Nigeria’s rich cultural diversity and innovative spirit . The collection showcased their creativity and the future of African fashion with a mix of couture and street wear, living attendees captivated.

Isilomo Braimoh and Larry Hector who were present as the official ambassadors of the event . Their creativity and passion for fashion aligned seamlessly with the “Fashion Forward” theme, resonating with the attendees throughout the week.

As is tradition, the event recognized designers with the most creative and innovative designs on which PatrickSlim and Vienne Styling represented.
PatrickSlim was presented the BlackNBold Award with a cash prize of one million naira for the Most Creative Male Designer and Vienne Styling was presented the Etimbuk Udoh Award with a matching cash prize for the most Creative Female Designer title.
Both winners also won the opportunity to showcase their collections at Dallas Fashion Week in March 2025.

The workshops led by industry experts like Kola Oshalusi of Insigna Media, Sola Babatunde, the CEO of OSC Fashion School and Anifowoshe Abiodun, Lead Instructor at House of Tara International offered invaluable insights into areas such as fashion photography, pattern making, fabric manipulation, and makeup artistry. These sessions equipped participants with practical knowledge to excel in the competitive fashion world.
The grand finale provided accomplishment to a week of creativity and innovation. Notable personalities from the fashion, business, entertainment, and media industries attended the event, including Hon. Mobolaji Ogundele, Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Ade Bakare, Ejiro Amos-Tafiri, Emmy Kasbit, Bibi Lawrence, Chris Oputa, and many others. The atmosphere was electric as the fashion community gathered to celebrate the artistry and determination of Nigeria’s next generation of designers.

The 7th edition of the Nigerian Student Fashion & Design Week (NSFDW) 2024 not only celebrates creativity but also stands as a testament to the resilience and ambition of young and innovative Nigerian designers, setting a high bar for future editions even after breaking it's 5 years hiatus.
